This beautiful brasserie with hotel has been founded by the Ducret-Chavant family in an imposing building. The civil house dates from 1869 and was the main residence of the industrialist and pharmacist-liquist Claudius Brun. Brun invented the China-China liqueur in 1808 and started the Brun-Pérod distillery in 1817.
The city of Voiron then bought the house “Mille Pas” as a library. Later the offices of the Cultural Heritage Department of the city and the Voiron region were located here.
